Dr. Eva Kittay named her dog Spinoza


Dr. Kittay, a Distinguished Professor of Philosophy at Stony Brook University and an Affiliate of the Stony Brook Women’s Studies Program - a world-renowned scholar of Disability Studies and Feminist Ethics, the author of more than 85 articles, as well as seven books and edited volumes including Love’s Labor: Essays on Women, Equality and Dependency, says in a talk on “The Moral Significance of Being Human,” she named her dog Spinoza because of his uncanny resemblance to the human Spinoza.
